Annual report of the Commissioner of the King (NB)

As third-year students in the New Design & Attitudes program at St. Joost School of Art & Design, Annelou Vingerhoets and I (Juul van den Heuvel) had the exciting opportunity to design the annual report of the King's Commissioner in our province. From the moment we received the commission, we were eager to use our creative freedom to make the report unique and eye-catching.

In our initial meeting with the King's Commissioner, we aimed for simplicity with a touch of creativity. As the Commissioner was fond of photography, we decided to emphasize images in the report. However, it wasn't until we visited the Commissioner's workroom that we stumbled upon a unique idea - what if we made the report entirely in blue?

This concept became the driving force behind our design process. We delved deep into the realm of blue, discovering the vast range of hues and shades available. We also considered the meaning behind the color blue, such as productivity, clarity, friendliness, and loyalty.

Ultimately, the blue-themed annual report became a symbolic representation of the Commissioner's era. On June 13th, we presented the first copy of the report in person, with an additional 500 copies distributed throughout the country, from the Prime Minister to the King himself.
